Entries close May 25, 2024. Entries submitted after this date will be assessed a late entry fee. Every Exhibitor, rider, driver, handler and trainer or his/her agent(s) must sign an entry blank. In the case of a rider, driver or handler under the age of 18, a parents or guardian must sign an entry blank on the minor’s behalf. Post entries will be accepted with an additional fee of $50.00. Stall fees must accompany entry to insure reservation. Each entry will pay the USEF fee of $23.00 (Drugs/Medications fee $15.00/USEF Federation fee $8.00), $7.00 USHJA Fee & $30 schooling fee and a $20 night watch fee. A $50 NSF check fee will apply to all accounts paid with a check that bounces. Make checks payable to GCHS, Inc.

Refund Policy

All participants must be able to provide current membership or proof of USEF show pass fee paid. Amateur certification for A/O and Adult Am. Classes, as well as measurement cards for Junior Hunters and Pony Hunters must be available to the horse show secretary before numbers will be issued.

All horses competing in Federation non-breed restricted licensed competitions with hunter, hunter breeding, jumper and hunter seat equitation classes (exception: costume entries, opportunity and lead line entries) must be properly registered with USHJA at USHJA.org. Animals without a current valid measurement card issued by USEF must be measured by the show steward, each day @ approx. 10:00am.

A non-showing fee of $150.00 will be charged for each horse, pony, mule, etc. stabled on the grounds and not in competition in a complete division. Non-showing horses must be listed on a completed entry blank.

A Current negative Coggins Test certificate dated within one year must be submitted ON PAPER as well as current veterinarian practice health papers noting Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus vaccination within 6 months of the competition. If your animal’s vaccinations were not administered by a veterinarian, you must, if asked be able to provide to secretaries, a receipt for purchase of vaccines, signed by the owner or agent with control of the animal; name, serial #, expiration date and date of administration.

Permanent stabling of 260 stalls and additional tents are on the show grounds at a cost of $210.00 per stall. All stalls are approx. 10×10 w/doors. Stall floors might be packed limestone, rubber mats or grass, depending on stall locations. All stall doors are provided. Stabling is available on a first-come, first-served basis. EMAIL Barney Mallace at: BMallace3000@gmail.com for all stall reservations. Management reserves the right to close entries. SHIP-IN ENTRIES for showing out of your trailer is not allowed due to space restrictions. All showing horses will be charged an entire stall fee regardless of sharing space. Horses may not share stall fees. Additional stalls are also available during the show at the Shelby Show Place Arena. Sharps containers will be provided for all barns and tents. Improper use of or disposal of sharps will result in fines, per USEF rules.

The Horse Show Office will be open by 8:00 a.m. the day prior to the start of the show for processing entries. The office will open approx. 1 hour prior to the start of the show each day. Numbers will not be issued without open check or credit card on file. 4% convenience fee for accounts closed with any credit card type.

RV Parking is available at a rate of $300.00 for the entire show or any portion of the show. Space is limited. RV spots must be reserved BY EMAIL WITH BARNEY MALLACE at: BMallace3000@gmail.com.
RV Registration card must be picked up in show office and displayed in a location visible from outside the trailer. Please do not show up with your camper if you do not have a reservation! Additional camper spaces may be available at the Agri-Center Show Place Arena – 901-378-7470

For the convenience of exhibitors schooling will be allowed throughout the day on Monday, beginning at 10:00 A.M. All entered horses will be required to pay the $30.00 schooling fee and $20 medic fee. Approved hard hats must be worn with chin-straps fastened. No poling or offset oxers will be allowed at any time.

It is compulsory for all persons at Federation licensed hunter, jumper, or hunter/jumper competitions when mounted anywhere on the competition grounds, to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. Exception: In Hunter or Jumper classes, adults may be allowed to remove their headgear while accepting prizes and during the playing of the National Anthem only; they must refasten their headgear prior to the lap of honor. It is compulsory for riders in Paso Fino classes, both open and breed restricted including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. A Show Committee, Competition Management, and Licensed Officials must bar riders without protective headgear from entering the ring for classes in which protective headgear is required and may bar any entry or person from entering the ring if not suitably presented to appear before an audience.

Prize Money Information

2022 Hunter prize money offered was $38,700, guaranteed prize money was $24,000.

2022 Hunter prize money paid out was $28,680.06

2023 – Rated prize money offered is $49,600, guaranteed prize money is $20,000.

Trophies, Ribbons & Prizes

A trophy and ribbons 1st – 8th will be awarded in all classes unless otherwise specified. Prize money will not be credited to exhibitor’s account without a valid Social Security number. Refunds and additional prize money, if owed will be mailed within 30 days of the completion of the show.

Hunter and Jumper Championships

Hunter Championships & Jumper Championships will be awarded on the basis of points won in classes throughout the section. Trophy presentations will follow all classes in the main arena.

Courtesy Circle / Jog Policy

In all Hunter classes, a dotted line for your courtesy circle may be put into effect at Management’s discretion. Rated hunter classes that require jogging for soundness will use a trotted circle at the end of each o/f round.

Jump Order

A rotating jumping order will be established and posted for all jumper classes. All horses must be ridden in the posted order. Riders and trainers who have conflicts due to multiple entries in a class must see the starter so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Dogs

Germantown has a strict “Leash Law”, and unleashed dogs are subject to impoundment and their owners fined. Loose dogs that are a problem, especially if caught in any arena will cost exhibitor $100.00.
