For the breed classes, we changed entry software to www.HorseSpot.net. If you have any questions setting up your account or making your entries, please reach out to our breed show secretary, Rob Fikes, at rfikes@gmail.com.
- There is new and improved footing and drainage in all arenas. The GCHS has invested $1.2 million in this footing and drainage which we think will be a remarkable improvement for all breeds and disciplines at the show.
- In addition to the usual “sprucing up” that happens prior to the show each year, you’ll notice the new pavement along Melanie Smith Lane, the main road that brings you onto the show grounds. We are so grateful to the City of Germantown and to the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development for making this much needed improvement a reality!
- We’ve made substantial changes and additions to our class schedule this year, including:
- A new $2,000 Country Speed Racking Championship has been added on Friday night. The qualifier for this class will be on Thursday night. This brings us to a total of $16,550 in prize money for the Racking Horse division – the most we’ve ever offered!
- We’ve added two new championships for Gypsy Vanners – a youth championship on Friday night and amateur championship on Saturday night. We’re excited to expand our class offerings for this growing division.
- To reflect the recent rule changes from the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association, we have added Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Riding Pattern, and Working Western Pleasure classes specific to American Saddlebreds. The opportunity classes will run concurrently.
- Two new classes have been added for our Paso Fino exhibitors – Adult Equitation and Adult Horsemanship.
- In the Tennessee Walking Horse division, we have designated all amateur and youth trail pleasure classes as “limited” in accordance with the new rules for the division.
